First Winter Bald Eagle!

Well, if you have been on my blog for awhile, you know that December-February is time for the bald eagles in my area.  I love to photograph them!  They are so regal and full of personality.  Each eagle has it's own characteristics that set them apart from each other.

When the backwaters begin to freeze, the eagles begin to roost on the main channel of the Mississippi River.  Later, when the main channel freezes, they congregate at the dams.  Today I got my first decent photos of the winter of a lone bald eagle.

Eagles itch too!  Check out those talons!

Great photos as usual, Bill! I really like the pics you have recently got of the mink and 'possums.

I apologize for my absence, just been dealing with some things including my schizoid blogging attempts. I think I am going to be back it again on Blogger. 99% of the blogs I read are here. If you feel up to it, my new blog should appear on my new Blogger profile now.

Take care -

Hey Casey,

Glad you stopped by! Thanks for the kind words on my photos. No apologies necessary. Life gets in the way, and sometimes it's just difficult to keep a blog going. Glad you are getting back in the game. I'll put your new link on here and visit when I can. You're always welcome here and I'm always glad to hear what you have to say. Glad you kept the Wandering Owl name:)

Bill
